Despite Lynch Pharmacy is actively involved in pharmacy practice and healthcare business processes analysis – consultation, prescribing, monitoring, patient wellbeing, time and resource savings for over 17 years, it wasn’t until 2015 when Garvan Lynch (Owner of Lynch Pharmacy) decided to consolidate several programs under a web-based medicines consultation named Telehealth.
His mission is to promote health and to advance health equity by improving medication knowledge of patients and prescription adherence. Telehealth consists around 1,000 Health Videos on medicines and health conditions, and new members are welcome to Telehealth for free signup to access these videos.
Telehealth sought to establish a web presence that was reflective of their values: forward-thinking, diverse, and exclusively located in Ireland.
In order to maximize the functionality and visual impact of the new site on a fixed budget, the client team leveraged both in-house technical expertise and a Drupal 8 codebase from LN Webworks.
The Telehealth team wanted to build on the functional foundation of the existing code while utilizing a clean-sheet design for the site’s look and feel.
Everyone has their own discovery process, and ours involved two days and a wealth of sticky notes and games that we use to identify goals, define what success looks like, create personas, and more.
With that information in hand, we then created a series of style tiles to capture the adventurous and bold spirit of Telehealth, working on a large number of iterations until we had crafted the right aesthetic.
At this point, we usually go straight to designing in the code but for this project, we created a few key pages as comps to help with the approval process. In the end, we had designs that pushed the envelope visually, components that were dynamic and reusable, and a team ready to move from design to execution.
The LN team worked directly with the owner/CEO of Telehealth to revamp the site.
Keeping in mind the target users and the value the website has to impart to the users, we designed and developed a website on Drupal. The website design has been influenced by Telehealth values and the user interface designs were done keeping the target users in mind.
Having built the website on Drupal allows the customer to easily manage and publish contents and new pages with dynamic images and contents.
This project was truly a team effort, as LN Webworks and Telehealth engaged in deep collaboration to meet the challenges of an evolving digital landscape head on. Telehealth embraced Drupal’s highly customizable platform and freedom from the initial and ongoing license fees of their legacy proprietary software. The end result is a website that stands out from the competition by combining the flexibility of Drupal with a forward thinking digital strategy.
